Who we are and what we collect
Greenbox Agriculture Limited ("Greenbox", "we", "us") grows microgreens and salad leaves hydroponically in Llantwit Major, Wales. We collect the details you give in our enquiry form (your name, email address, phone number and business name if you give them, the type of customer you are, and your message); your email address if you sign up to our newsletter; the names, contact details, delivery addresses, orders, invoices and payment records of trade customers; whatever you tell us when you email us; and technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through cookies by our website platform, Wix. We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information such as health details.
How we use, share and keep your information
We use your information to reply to enquiries and send prices or samples (legitimate interests, or steps you ask us to take before a contract); to supply, deliver and invoice trade customers (contract); to keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation); to keep food traceability records of who we supplied, with what and when (legal obligation under food law); to send our newsletter (consent: you can unsubscribe at any time); to tell business customers about our products (legitimate interests: you can opt out at any time); and to run and secure our website (legitimate interests, and consent for non-essential cookies). We do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
We share it only where we need to: with Wix, which hosts our website and stores form submissions and newsletter sign-ups; Google, which provides our email; our accountants; food safety auditors and regulators such as Environmental Health or the Food Standards Agency; and anyone else where the law requires it. These providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. Wix and Google may process information outside the UK, including in the United States and Israel. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
We keep enquiries that do not lead to business for 2 years from our last contact; trade orders, invoices and payment records for 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to; traceability and dispatch records for 3 years; and newsletter sign-ups until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only your email address on a suppression list so we do not contact you again.
Your rights, complaints and cookies
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, to object to how we use it (including an absolute right to stop direct marketing), to receive information you gave us in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email paul@greenbox.wales and we will respond within one month. Some rights do not apply in every case, for example where the law requires us to keep records, and we will explain if so.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please email paul@greenbox.wales with "Data protection complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Our website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work and stay secure. Other cookies, such as analytics, are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Our website and products are aimed at businesses and adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
